Collection: Foam Rollers

A foam roller, also called a therapy roller or gym roller, is a therapy aid designed to help you release knots and tension in your muscles. Foam rollers usually take the form of a lightweight cylinder, but can also come in ball, barbell and half-sphere shapes.

Foam rollers allow you to make use of your own bodyweight to relieve tired, sore and tense muscles. You position the target area on top of the foam roller, then move your body back and forth to create an effect that is similar to a deep tissue massage.

At GymQuip we have a complete range of foam rollers, in every size, shape and density you could need. If you visit our Canberra store – Australia’s largest fitness showroom – you can even try before you buy.

Foam Rollers FAQs

What is a foam roller good for?

Through a similar action to a deep tissue massage, foam rollers can help with the muscle fatigue, tension and general soreness that you feel after an intense workout. They can also be used to help warm your muscles up before a workout.

When should you not use a foam roller?

It’s important to note that foam rollers should only be used on muscles – never roll directly on bones or joints, particularly your spine. And rollers should only be used for general fatigue and soreness – if you have an injury, consult a medical professional for the best treatment.
