Boxing Gear & Equipment FAQs

How do I choose boxing equipment?

The first step to choosing the right boxing equipment is to understand the types of boxing workout you want to focus on. Punching bags and reflex balls are great for solo training, and can help you increase strength and develop your technique. If you’re sparring with someone else, choose a properly fitted pair of gloves, and be sure to protect yourself with the necessary pads, guards and headgear.

How many KG should a boxing bag be?

Ideally a boxing bag will be approximately half your weight: if you weigh 80kg, the bag should weigh approximately 40kg. But a more common way to differentiate between boxing bags is by length: at GymQuip we offer 3, 4, 5 and 6 foot bags – the longer the bag, the heavier it is, and the more room it needs to swing safely.
